Work description

Modulation in the sense of music theory: the transition from one harmonic state to another – here it's a process automated by computer algorithms. Central chords are paraphrased by single voices that are determined by search algorithms according to statistically defined differences to these chords. The definition of rhythms is more strict – four instrumental layers (roughly: wood, brass, piano and mallets, strings) are parts of rhythmical patterns that change slowly over different sections. Also: modulation as a variation of the method modulation and an echo of tonal music.

Instrumentation:  1(picc)/1/1, asax/1 - 1/1/1/0 - mar - vib - pno - 2/1/1/1
